Rogue River Hiking Trip Details

Rogue River Hiking Trip DetailsOur four-day hiking trips on the historic Rogue River trail are popular for groups of all ages. Over 40 miles long, the trail is well maintained and parallels the Rogue River. Most of our Rogue River hiking trips take place in May, June, September and October, when temperatures aren’t too hot and hikers can enjoy the Rogue River trail without breaking a sweat. Rogue River hiking trips are suitable for just about anyone because the amount of hiking is totally up to you – there is always an option to ride in a raft for parts of the day.

Thank you for putting together a wonderful, memorable and fun adventure for me and my girlfriends. We always felt well taken care of, safe and the hiking was the best. The Rogue is a beautiful place, so remote and such different terrain as we went downstream.”
Joyce Foster

With its easy gradient and ample shade, the trail is a wonderful way to enjoy the Rogue’s spectacular scenery. Our hiking trips include a knowledgeable Rogue River Journeys trail guide who will hike with you, delicious lunches that are set up and waiting at predetermined locations and comfortable camping or lodging (some of our hiking trips are “All-Lodge”). The trail affords spectacular views of the river canyon, frequent glimpses of wildlife, and takes you to historic points of interest along the way.

The best part of the hiking trail is that you only need to carry a day pack for your camera and water, as our rafts will carry the trip gear and food. If you’d like to take a break from hiking, you are welcome to ride in our rafts to enjoy some of the river’s exciting whitewater.

All of our hiking trips are four days in length and feature a final night at Paradise Lodge. These trips provide you with a wonderful experience within the Rogue River corridor, and a memorable time spent exploring the Rogue Wilderness.

Meeting Time and Place

The meeting place for all of our Rogue River hiking trips is the Galice Resort. We meet at 8:00 a.m. the morning of your trip. Many of our guests stay at Galice Resort the night prior to the trip. Reservations can be made online or by calling 541-476-3818.

What’s Included?

All meals beginning with lunch day one through lunch day four are included on your trip. We also provide some beer, wine, and soda for you to enjoy at camp. If you’d like additional beverages, feel free to bring them and we will find a safe and secure place to store them on our raft. If you need any camping gear (sleeping bag, tent, sleeping pad), we can provide it to you free of charge with advance notice.

What does “raft-assisted” hiking mean?

Perhaps the best part of our Rogue River hiking trips is that you don’t have to carry anything! Our rafts literally carry all the gear needed to provide a deluxe camping experience. We take care of all the food and camping equipment so that you can hike light. Additionally, our guides prepare phenomenal meals for you to enjoy and set-up camp before you arrive. Your only job is to have fun, relax, and take in the great views from the trail. If you get tired or want a break, a raft is always nearby and ready to take passengers.

After the trip

We are typically off the river mid-afternoon on day four. We provide a shuttle back to the Galice Resort where your vehicle is parked during the trip. You can also have your own vehicle shuttled to Foster Bar if you are planning on going to the coast afterwards.
